Question:
this is what works for me!i apply ice cold water to my forehead area and
within 30 seconds my panic attack is gone!
Answer:
It's worth a try... I'll try anything once. I have a weird problem
with getting PAs in the shower. I've noticed if I open the shower
curtain and let a gust of cool or cold air hit me for a few minutes I
can usually calm the panic response enough to at least finish my
shower.
I'll try the ice water.
Some people get PA in the shower because of feeling closed in. This is very
common, I had my hubby install a clear glass door. It helped me and he
likes it too because he can sneak a peek. :)
I tend to get more anxious when having a shower and I solve it by
either getting out or turning down the temperature!. I also have
panic when swiming laps ins a pool, probably because I can' get out
too quickly if my heart goes into overdrive and everyone's there to
stare at me! I find brisk walking the best kind of exercise for me at
the moment (currently taking 2mg Klonopin per day which has helped me
get back into the exercise regime).
I often find a cool breeze helpful with anxiety.
Makes me wonder if the sensory stimulation or
some temperature related biochemistry does
something helpful (stimulate endorphins perhaps?).
Needless to say, I dread summers.
