although it does sound quite different on the demo. I do not think the fist
part is saying "darkness" although the rest of your interpretation is very
cool even if it isn't the correct one!

Okay, so I have NOT been able to figure out the first line of Gas Panic, so
I hunted around some of the amo posts and websites that have SOTSOG lyrics,
and many others seem to have a similar problem. Well, just now I was
listening to the demo version and I *think* Noel sings
"What darkness, ghost or sin crept through my curtains?"
Does anyone else hear it, or am I cloth-eared? On the album version, with
Liam on vocals, it's a little harder to make out, but he *could* be saying
this. I just figure it makes sense, since the image is of Noel sitting in
his front room dealing with the demons that come to visit during his panic
attacks.
I'm still having problems with the second verse. It sounds like "My pulse
thumps out a beat- something something- My eyes are dead and my thoughts
like a bird have flown" Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm pretty sure I 've
got the rest figured out, but this is bugging me coz I'm longing to sing
along with the song, but I feel like a real tool sitting there babbling
incoherently over the bits I don't know. I guess I could be patient and wait
for the liner notes, but dammit! I have no patience!!!
