Question:
I want to learn everything I can about panic attacks! Finding information on
them is virtually IMPOSSIBLE, but just reading from your post, I have
understood more in the last 30 minutes of reading than I have in 2 years of
searching for help.
Answer:
There are a variety of very good web sites, which
you can find via the anxiety-panic search engine
(http://anxiety-panic.com).
There *is* a lot of information ouit there if you know where to find it. Some
good and easy reading:
William D. Kernodle, Panic Disorder. The Medical Point of View
Aaron T. Beck & Gary Emory, Anxiety Disorders and Phobias. A Cognitive View
Edmund J. Bourne, The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook (a self-help manual)
These are popular books and can be ordered from the Amazon website.
Two other places on the 'net:
Arthur's website (*yes, that's *our* Arthur!):
http://www.netaxs.com/people/aca3/asap-ala.htm
which also has great links (to his search engine and to the ASAP dictionary for
example but to a lot of others too)
the Bulletin Board of the Los Angeles Panic Disorders Institute, a very
thought-provoking site where the director, Dr. Stuart Shipko, answers questions.
